Dew Drop Daze 2010 Huge success

Miss Ellie the Elephant and her Clown Friends

The clowns were in great form!  The coney dogs and hamburgers were ever so tasty! The balloons were poppin’ and the prizes were  great! The popcorn, pop and ice cream bars were a hit…and the treasures were many.  All in all the 2010 Dew Drop Daze Yard Sale and Fun Fair was a hit. Miss Ellie the Elephant and her clown friend joined the junior clowns for a great time. Scotiabank Red River Road donated $5000 and the money is still coming in. At this time, we have raised about $12,000 but the final count isn’t in yet. It was a great weekend despite the rain. A great big thank you goes out to the donors, all the volunteers, Ellie and the clowns, the Scotiabank staff and to everyone who came out to make this such a terrific event. A special thank you to 10 year old Abby Mulligan who sold over 320 balloons and did face painting.

Husky Rebate Program and Quality Market Save-a-tape make it easy for YOU to help!

Friday, June 11th, 2010

The Husky Community Rebate Program is a great way for you to help the Dew Drop Inn. All you have to do is get one of our Husky Rebate Cards by calling us at 345-5202. Then present your card at the point of sale at any Husky, Mohawk or Husky House Restaurant and the Dew Drop Inn will receive a 2% rebate of the total purchases. That’s it. Husky tracks the value of our purchases, calculates the appropriate rebate and sends cheques on a quarterly basis, provided we earned a minimum $50 rebate.

Another way you can help is  through Quality Market’s ‘Save a Tape’ program. Shop at Quality Market, save your till receipts and drop them off at St. Andrew’s Dew Drop Inn. We’ll  return them for a cash refund which is a percentage of the receipt totals.

Just two more ways that YOU can help Feed the Hungry here in Thunder Bay.
